Years Hunting: I started whitetail hunting over 30 years ago.
Years On Staff: I started filming hunts with Closing the Distance in 2005.
Behind the Scenes: When I'm not working or spending time with my family, I am usually somewhere in the woods hunting. Living in the Pineywoods of East Texas, there is always something to scout or hunt for; especially if you enjoy hog hunting as much as I do. I've lived in Nacogdoches for the past 30 years with my wife, Sarah, who often tags along with me as my camerawoman. We both enjoy the outdoors and spend a lot of time together either hunting or camping. I have two grown children, a son, Denver, and a daughter, Laura, that both enjoy spending time in the great outdoors too when they aren't busy hitting the books or cramming for tests. I''ve been filming commercially for the past three years, and I really enjoying hunting and filming with my Closing the Distance Team mate, Kenneth Sutton. We've had some awesome pig hunts here in East Texas on the Two Point Plantation, as well as at his farm in southern Nacogdoches County. When we aren't hunting the Pineywoods, we're usually scouting whitetails on his ranch down in Maverick County. I've had some really good times hunting with my friends and family, and I'm looking forward to a great hunting season this fall. Good luck on all of your hunts. Be safe and watch out for the El Chupacabra! ~ Dr. Spike
